Unable to load team and nfs kernel module after kernel upgrade

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After updating the kernel, modules such as team, nfs, and hpilo do not load automatically on system boot.
  • This failure can cause network disruption, as network interfaces like team0 fail to initialize.
  • Manually running modprobe <module_name> also fails to load the module, but does not produce any error messages, even in verbose mode.
  • An error may occur with the HPE Lights-Out Online Configuration utility because the CPQCIDRV driver is not loading.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9
  • Systems with applications that may alter kernel module directories, such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
