fstrim command succeeds but storage utilization is not reduced on a thin-provisioned LUN
Issue
- The
fstrimcommand returns a success message and the exit code is0(success). - However, when checking the block utilization in the storage array's management interface, the usage percentage has not decreased.
- Why is the space not being reclaimed by the storage array, even though the operating system appears to have successfully sent the discard notification?
