Issue

  • Unable to Install or Update ipa-server on RHEL 9 or RHEL 10 due to unavailable samba-client-libs dependency:

    # dnf install ipa-server ipa-server-dns
    Error: 
    Problem 1: cannot install the best candidate for the job
     - nothing provides samba-client-libs >= 4.21.3-104.el10_0 needed by ipa-server-4.12.2-15.el10_0.1.x86_64 from rhel-10-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
    Problem 2: package ipa-server-dns-4.12.2-15.el10_0.1.noarch from rhel-10-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms requires ipa-server = 4.12.2-15.el10_0.1, but none of the providers can be installed
     - cannot install the best candidate for the job
     - nothing provides samba-client-libs >= 4.21.3-104.el10_0 needed by ipa-server-4.12.2-15.el10_0.1.x86_64 from rhel-10-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
    (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)
    
    # dnf install ipa-server
      nothing provides samba-client-libs >= 4.21.3-5.el9_6 needed by ipa-server-4.12.2-14.el9_6.1.x86_64
