CPU and Memory hotplug requires VM restart on OpenShift Virtualization under certain circumstances

Issue

  • Virtual Machine shows The following areas have pending changes that will be applied when this VirtualMachine is restarted. even though it supports hotplug
  • By default, Virtual Machines are started with maxSockets and maxGuest values equal to 4 times the initial value by default.
  • The Virtual Machine configuration change exceeds the maxSockets or maxGuest values, though these aren't clear.
