Issue

When running the Red Hat Insights 'Initiate update of RHEL AI host' task on hosts built from certain Red Hat Container Catalog RHEL AI images, the task fails with the message:

unshare: cannot change root filesystem propagation: Permission denied

Environment

  • Hosts built from older RHEL AI images from the Red Hat Container Catalog, for example registry.redhat.io/rhelai/bootc-*-rhel9:1.4
  • Relevant packages:
# rpm -q rhc rhc-worker-playbook bootc
rhc-0.2.4-5.el9.x86_64
rhc-worker-playbook-0.1.8-7.el9.x86_64
bootc-0.1.14-1.el9_4.x86_64
