pvs does not reflect a valid LVM signature PV UUID reported by blkid and wipefs

Issue

A valid LVM signature and PV UUID is reported on block device by blkid and wipefs, but pvs does not report this for the same block device. In addition pvs may report a missing pv on an unknown block device.
