Unable to use ROSA CLI: no EC2 IMDS role found

Issue

  • Rosa commands failing with the following:

    SDK 2024/11/11 07:52:30 WARN falling back to IMDSv1: operation error ec2imds: getToken, http response error StatusCode: 404, request to EC2 IMDS failed
E: Failed to create AWS client: operation error STS: GetCallerIdentity, get identity: get credentials: failed to refresh cached credentials, no EC2 IMDS role found, operation error ec2imds: GetMetadata, http response error StatusCode: 404, request to EC2 IMDS failed

  • Getting the below error while querying the AWS API:

    aws sts get-caller-identity
Unable to locate credentials. You can configure credentials by running "aws configure"
