Issue

After a kernel update from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.7 to RHEL 8.8 or above, or from RHEL 9.1 to RHEL 9.2 or above, some directory searches exhibit decreased performance and a significantly increased number of system calls and NFS v3 getattr calls.

Environment

  • NFS v3 mounts in:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and above
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 and above
