Local FS fails to mount, due to a bad unit file setting
Issue
- A local FS, or its dependencies, fails to mount during boot, however could be mounted normally after the system comes up.
-
I am seeing errors like this on the system logs:
systemd[1]: local-fs.target: Cannot add dependency job, ignoring: Unit <mount_point>.mount has a bad unit file setting.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10
- systemd
