Vsphere failed to provision volumes not matching topologies after cluster upgrade

Issue

  • Application persistent volume is in Pending state with the below error,

    failed to provision volume with StorageClass "vsphere-csi-default": rpc error: code = Internal desc = failed to get shared datastores for topology segments [map[topology.csi.vmware.com] map[topology.csi.vmware.com]]in vCenter "vCenter". Error: failed to fetch hosts belonging to topology segment map[topology.csi.vmware.com]. Error: failed to fetch hosts from entity Datastore. Error: unrecognised entity type found Datastore:datastore-xxxxx.
