"stat /run/netns: no such file or directory" error is blocking container startup after upgrade to RHOSP 17.1

Issue

  • Unable to start Neutron containers because of the following error:

    Jan 17 09:01:27 undercloud[6206]: Error: unable to start container "2f970c43906b397ddca1405da2c4b1a5fa049f6e4fd61486c122a793f06617d2": runc: runc create failed: unable to start container process: error during container init: error mounting "/run/netns" to rootfs at "/run/netns": stat /run/netns: no such file or directory: OCI runtime attempted to invoke a command that was not found

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1
  • Only environments upgraded from RHOSP 16.2 are affected
