ilab-serve.service: Current command vanished from the unit file, execution of the command list won't be resumed.

Issue

  • While running ilab model serve as service, followed the steps in RHEL AI documentation, however service startup fails with error and model is not served.

    $  journalctl --user-unit ilab-serve.service --no-pager
Jan 28 13:25:25 node1.example.com systemd[6946]: ilab-serve.service: Current command vanished from the unit file, execution of the command list won't be resumed.

  • The same command works when run on command line for non-root user.

    $ ilab model serve --model-path /var/home/user_name/.cache/instructlab/models/MODEL-NAME-OR-DIRECTORY-HERE
