Creating PVC fails with ServerFaultCode: The object 'vim.VirtualMachine:vm-xxxxxx' has already been deleted or has not been completely created

Issue

After recreating worker nodes, provisioning of the new PersistentVolumeClaim (PVC) fails with the below error:
