reposync fails transiently after complaining about problematic packages with "Downloading successful, but checksum doesn't match" error messages

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When syncing repositories such as RHEL9 latest repositories, the reposync command fails on some packages, e.g.

[MIRROR] grafana-9.2.10-17.el9_4.x86_64.rpm: Downloading successful, but checksum doesn't match. Calculated: 0668630261e946de1ab293211ab9fd53735589648b02f376be5886ae9ab9ef39(sha256) Expected: 4ec88d3eb8573e57d495bb534ee1751f903848e5186e1d97ec21d487eee80bc2(sha256)
[FAILED] grafana-9.2.10-17.el9_4.x86_64.rpm: No more mirrors to try - All mirrors were already tried without success

  • Re-executing the reposync command fixes the issue

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
    • reposync (yum-utils)
