Why I am getting VirtualMachineCRCErrors alerts in OCP cluster with OpenShift Virtualization?

Issue

  • Below alert is logged in the OpenShift Cluster:
Virtual Machines are in risk of causing CRC error  and major service outages.
summary: When running VMs using ODF storage with 'rbd' mounter or 'rbd.csi.ceph.com
provisioner', it will report bad crc/signature errors and cluster performance
 will be severely degraded if krbd:rxbounce is not set.

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.
    • OpenShift Virtualization 4.14.
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.15.
    • OpenShift Virtualization 4.15.
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.16.
    • OpenShift Virtualization 4.16.
