Can't launch applications from Nautilus

Issue

  • When trying to launch an application from Nautilus, we get an error stating there is no application to launch shared library files.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6
  • GNOME
  • shared-mime-info package version earlier than 1.9-4.el8
