Issue

  • Receiving AlertmanagerFailedToSendAlerts alert in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.

  • alertmanager-main-x pods from openshift-monitoring project are continuously streaming following error message:

    YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.XXXXXXXZ ts=YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.XXXZ caller=dispatch.go:352 level=error component=dispatcher msg="Notify for alerts failed" num_alerts=1 err="receiver_name/email[0]: notify retry canceled due to unrecoverable error after 1 attempts: parse 'to' addresses: mail: no angle-addr"
