OpenShift Console Pods Constantly Redeploying

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • This issue has been observed after installation of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.16 and also in the Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS 4.19, more specifically on 4.19.11.
  • After installation of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.16, it is observed that the console pods keeps getting redeployed frequently with several replicasets also continuously being recreated. The same is observed in a running Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS 4.19.
  • This will cause the generation and deployment.kubernetes.io/revision annotation of the console deployment with high numbers:

    deployment.kubernetes.io/revision: "83094"
    generation: 83099

  • Messages like the following are continously shown in the console deployment resource:

    message: ReplicaSet "console-xxxxxxxxx" is progressing.
    reason: ReplicaSetUpdated

message: ReplicaSet "console-yyyyyyyyyy" has successfully progressed.
    reason: NewReplicaSetAvailable

  • Messages like the following are continuously shown in the console-operator pod logs:

SyncLoopRefreshProgressing InProgress changes made during sync updates, additional sync expected

telemetry config error: HTTP request failed with status '429 Too Many Requests'

SyncLoopRefreshProgressing InProgress working toward version 4.x.x, 1 replicas available
