Console keeps deploying frequently in OpenShift 4.16

Issue

  • After OpenShift 4.16 installation, it is observed that the console pods keeps getting redeployed frequently, with several replicasets also continuously being recreated, and the generation and deployment.kubernetes.io/revision of the console deployment with high numbers:

        deployment.kubernetes.io/revision: "83094"
  creationTimestamp: "2024-08-20T00:00:00Z"
  generation: 83099

  • Messages like the following ones are continously shown in the console deployment resource:

        message: ReplicaSet "console-xxxxxxxxx" is progressing.
    reason: ReplicaSetUpdated

        message: ReplicaSet "console-yyyyyyyyyy" has successfully progressed.
    reason: NewReplicaSetAvailable

  • Messages like the following ones are continuously shown in the console-operator pod logs:

    SyncLoopRefreshProgressing InProgress changes made during sync updates, additional sync expected

    telemetry config error: HTTP request failed with status '429 Too Many Requests'

    SyncLoopRefreshProgressing InProgress working toward version 4.16.3, 1 replicas available
