RHEL8.10: cannot transfer files using curl-7.61.1-34.el8 to SFTP server, curl hangs after printing "completed keyboard interactive authentication"

Issue

  • Since updating curl to curl-7.61.1-34.el8, SFTP transfers using curl hang, verbose mode shows the following:

    $ curl -vvv --user <user>:<passwd> -k sftp://xxxx
[...]
* completed keyboard interactive authentication

    Here above no "* Authentication complete" message gets displayed.
