Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • Even though a DPDK instance starts normally and an IP address is correctly configured on the interface, pinging the gateway results in a network unreachable error.
  • Capturing packets on a dpdk interface with ovs-tcpdump does not capture any packets.
  • The log from the Libvirt VM shows an error indicating a failure in initializing the memory map.
qemu-kvm: Failed initializing vhost-user memory map, consider using -object memory-backend-file share=on
qemu-kvm: vhost_set_mem_table failed: Invalid argument (22)
qemu-kvm: unable to start vhost net: 22: falling back on userspace virtio
