Some Argo CD annotations are ignored in Istio gateway resources in OpenShift 4

Issue

  • Argo CD is constantly reporting several namespaces as out-of-sync.

  • Cannot prevent Argo CD application from constantly monitoring some namespaces.

  • When trying to set up the following annotations in gateway resources, they are ignored:

    argocd.argoproj.io/compare-options: IgnoreExtraneous
argocd.argoproj.io/sync-options: Prune=false
