Logrotate is not working for /var/log/messages

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After RHEL 8.7 to rhel 8.8 upgrade, logging was stopped for below files :

    /var/log/cron 
/var/log/maillog 
/var/log/messages 
/var/log/secure

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • logrotate
