Heat stack stuck in deletion (DELETE_IN_PROGRESS)

Issue

  • Heat stack remained in DELETE_IN_PROGRESS status after an attempt at its deletion. The following lines are seen in heat-api logs:

    File "/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/heat/engine/stack.py", line 748, in __getitem__
  return self.resources[key]
KeyError: \'platform_service_group\''

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.1
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.2
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1
  • Both undercloud and overcloud Heat services may be affected
