Deprecated MD Raid functionality

Issue

The following MD raid kernel modules have been marked deprecated in Red Hat Enterprise Linux:

• CONFIG_MD_LINEAR allows multiple drives to be concatenated end-to-end so that when a single member disk becomes full, data will be written to the next disk until all disks are full.

• CONFIG_MD_FAULTY module allows for a block device that occasionally returns read or write errors. It is useful for testing.
