Include the JSON Convert CLI tool `jc` in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Common command line tools like ps, multipath, systemd, subscription-manager, netstat, lsblk, free, ip, etc. have none or limited support for json/yaml output
  • If you have to parse information from Linux commands, it is not always clear how to parse outputs of those commands correctly, and it usually requires some tweaking
  • jc is used to JSONify the output of many command-line tools and file types for easier parsing in scripts

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9
  • Future releases of RHEL
