Why is a TIME-WAIT socket not killed when a RST arrives?
Issue
- Timeout issue on connection between application and Database.
- A challenge ACK to a socket in the
TIME-WAITstate generates aRSTwhich is ignored. So the client eventually times out trying to establish a TCP connection.
