Recreating a ROSA cluster with the same base domain

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • In some scenarios, users may need to recreate a Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) cluster with the same base domain after deletion. As of the current implementation, recreating a cluster with the exact same base domain is not possible.

  • The inability to retain the same base domain can result in additional coordination efforts with other teams such as DNS firewall management and containers with exposed routes. However, there is an active feature request to address this limitation:
OCM-1667 - Customer can specify domain during creation with DNS being managed by RH.

Environment

  • Red Hat Openshift on AWS (ROSA)
