Why does the gre0 interface have frame errors on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5, but not in earlier versions?
Issue
-
We recently patched several
RHEL 6.4machines. TheSquidpackage was not updated, and the config files were not changed for ourGREinterface or forSquid. The patched machines are no longer accepting traffic through theGREinterface as they did prior to patching. I will attach two separate files to illustrate differences between these servers. -
When upgrading to
RHEL 6.5, agre0interface made for aGREtunnel from other networking hardware, may start droppingframes.
Environment
- Red hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
- kernel 2.6.32-431.1.2.el6.x86_64
- GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation)
- Tunnelling (Unidirectional/Bidirectional, although only received packets are affected)
- Squid 2.0
