  • timedatectl and hostnamectl command fails to run after running third-party service (ipmdns.service).
  • Below is the error while running timedatectl.
# timedatectl 
Failed to query server: Could not activate remote peer.
  • We also see below services in failed state.
[root@host ~]# systemctl --failed
  UNIT                      LOAD   ACTIVE SUB    DESCRIPTION
● systemd-hostnamed.service loaded failed failed Hostname Service
● systemd-timedated.service loaded failed failed Time & Date Service
