Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • VM is not getting IP assigned in secondary interface even though we are able to see the IP attached in openstack server show output.

  • When we are checking inside the VM ports are showing down when we are bringing the port up manually it is coming up but ip is not getting assigned.

  • Even after rebooting the VM IP is not getting assigned on secondary interface and we have to manually attach the ip.

  • If we reset cloud-init, second interface is getting an IP:

rm -rf /var/lib/cloud/*
cloud-init clean
cloud-init init
reboot
  • We generated our own KVM guest images.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.0 (RHOSP)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 (RHEL)
