Unable to log into a Windows domain with username only, requires user@domain
Issue
- User is unable to login to the Active Directory domain without adding the suffix of userid@domain, and needs to be able to log in with just the user ID without the domain.
- Logging in with just username works on RHEL 6 but not RHEL 5 systems.
Environment
- A domain containing RHEL 6 and 6.1 clients with all systems authenticating to a Windows server with winbind and samba. When adding a RHEL 5.7 system and configuring it for samba and winbind, user can't login without adding the suffix of the userid@domain on the 5.7 system.
