Red Hat Directory Server LDAPS error: ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

Issue

When trying to connect to Red Hat Directory Server rhdserver.rhds.com with ldaps protocol via second IP address 172.2.1.10 , this error is observed:

# ldapsearch -D "cn=Directory Manager" -y password.txt  -H ldaps://172.2.1.10   -b "ou=people,dc=rhds,dc=com" 
ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

Environment

  • Red Hat Directory Server 11 with hostname rhdserver.rhds.comand 2 IP addresses: 192.168.1.10 and 172.2.1.10.
