Large OMAP Objects in *.rgw.log pool related to sync error logs
Issue
Large object warnings may be seen in the Ceph cluster status related to the RGW log pool. Sync error logging could be one of the reasons why this warning is logged.
There are 32 shards/objects(0-31) that track sync errors related to Ceph RGW multisite that are logged in the RGW log pool.
Trimming sync error logs may require manual intervention, below are the steps to trim these types of error log entries, See the resolution section for the steps that show trimming one of the individual shards that contain these sync error log entries.
Example of a large object warning in the RGW "log" pool:
# ceph health detail
HEALTH_WARN 1 large omap objects
LARGE_OMAP_OBJECTS 1 large omap objects
1 large objects found in pool 'default.rgw.log'
Search the cluster log for 'Large omap object found' for more details.
