"svnadmin verify" problem with non utf8 pathname

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Try to verify the svn repos through svn admin command then see the error:

        $ svn admin very path
        WARNING 0x0002: E160005: While validating fspath 'non-utf8-path.ext': Path 'non-utf8-path.txt' is not in UTF-8
        * Error verifying revision 52.
        svnadmin: E160005: Path 'non-utf8-path.txt' is not in UTF-8

  • When the pathname has more than 5000 revisions then verifying the svn repos through svn admin command throws an error and fails at revision number 52.
