How to configure and enable systemd-pstore in RHOCP

Issue

  • How can I enable systemd-pstore on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Nodes?

  • I see systemd-pstore is not enabled by default in any master node

    # systemctl status systemd-pstore.service
● systemd-pstore.service - Platform Persistent Storage Archival
 Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-pstore.service; disabled; vendor 
preset: disabled)
 Active: inactive (dead)
   Docs: man:systemd-pstore(8)

  • Generating a dump in RHOCP doesn't persist any data

  • Red Hat Openshift Container Platform (RHOCP)
    • >=4.12.16
    • >=4.11.43
