Attempting a
gzipoperation on an NFS mount fails with:gzip: FILENAME: Permission denied -
gzip under strace shows:
open("file.gz", O_WRONLY|O_CREAT|O_EXCL, 0600) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10 (NFS client)
- Netapp filer (NFS server)
