Password authentication failed for user postgres
Issue
After re-installing Central with an operator, the RHACS logs show an error message of
Timed out trying to open database: failed to connect to `host=central-db.rhacs-operator.svc user=postgres database=postgres`: failed SASL auth (FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres" (SQLSTATE 28P01))
Errors related to possible changes in secrets in the central cluster:
Info: checking if the database "central_active" exists
Info: Could not check for central database: failed to connect to `user=postgres database=postgres`: <central-db-scv-ip>:5432 (central-db.stackrox.svc): failed SASL auth: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres" (SQLSTATE 28P01)
Environment
- Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (RHACS)
- 4.X
- The customer has taken these steps:
- Installed Central using operator with Postgres enabled
- Uninstalls Central
- Reinstalls Central with similar settings
