OCP/RH-SSO operator is not able to connect to PostgreSQL database using IPv6 interface only

Issue

  • OCP/RH-SSO operator 7.6.x is working FINE when dual stack IPv4/IPv6 is configured, when connecting to an external PostgreSQL database.

  • When IPv4 is removed, and there is only IPv6 interface, keycloak-0 pod is not reaching state 1/1 and Readiness probe is FAILING.

Environment

  • Red Hat Single Sign-On
    • 7.6.x
  • OpenShift 4.x
  • RH-SSO operator deployed on Openshift
  • IPv6 interface only (-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=false -Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=true)
