HTTP 431 (Request Header Fields Too Large) when using Quarkus with HTTP/2

Issue

  • When running a Quarkus application on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) with HTTP/2 enabled, sometimes a HTTP/1.1 431 Request Header Fields Too Large response is returned.
  • The same issue does not appear when HTTP/2 is disabled.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) 4.12
  • Red Hat Build of Quarkus
