The JBoss ON Agent is unable to start the host controller when http-interface is not defined in the configuration host.xml file

Issue

  • The agent finds host controller and domain controller but it does not find the servers that are running in the server group;
  • The agent.log file logs the following message:
DEBUG [main] (rhq.core.pc.inventory.ResourceContainer$ResourceComponentInvocationHandler)- Call to [org.rhq.modules.plugins.jbossas7.HostControllerComponent.start()] with args [[org.rhq.core.pluginapi.inventory.ResourceContext@364b771a]] failed.
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid port: 0
  • The JBoss ON Agent is unable to start the host controller when http-interface is not defined in the configuration host.xml file;

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.2
  • Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6.x in domain mode
  • using the default host-slave.xml file for host controller
