Why doesn't virt-sysprep remove the machine-id when using the default operations?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

When using virt-sysprep to prepare or seal a qcow image, it should remove /etc/machine-id according to the operations enabled by default. However, after successful execution of virt-sysprep a value is still present in /etc/machine-id.
