[RHOCP 4] '/var/log/ovn' grows in size leading filesystem storage exhaustion in OVN-Kubernetes

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Is there any retention period for the logs that are generated by OVN stored under /var/log/ovn on Openshift Nodes?

  • When checking filesystem usage for OVN on an Openshift Node it shows usage in GBs leading to storage exhaustion, how to avoid this?

    du -shc /var/log/ovn
    106G /var/log/ovn

  • Is it possible to compress ovn-audit files stored under /var/log/ovn when the ovn-audit file reaches the limit set on maxFileSize?

  • Will it be possible to configure a storage limit for ovn-audit logging, so that once this limit is reached old logs can be removed?
