Is it possible to restart the gnome-shell process safely?
Issue
- Is it possible to restart the gnome-shell process safely without destroying any other processes?
- The gnome-shell process consumes a lot of memory sometimes, and we want to restart it.
- In the dialog ‘Enter a Command’, after inputting the ‘r’ then enter, the gnome-shell process’s PID is not changed.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- GNOME 3
