iSCSI tcmu-runner segfaults randomly in Red Hat Ceph Storage (RHCS) 5

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We see the tcmu-runner process segfaulting at random times.
  • The Container is not restarted and needs a manual restart.
  • You can see segfault messages in /var/log/messages

    # cat /var/log/messages | grep segfault
    Mar 15 16:18:01 <HOSTNAME> kernel: ework-thread[938865]:  segfault at b0 ip 00007f858c2b60f4 sp 00007f8571fe49b8 error 4 in librados.so.2.0.0[7f858c204000+1a4000]
