Unable to write to new cephfs shared volume by `NonRoot` container in ODF 4.12

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • NonRoot container cannot write/create folders to an ocs-storagecluster-cephfs mounted volume on a Red Hat Openshift Data Foundation (RHODF) 4.12 cluster as the permission is set to 755.

    drwxr-xr-x. 5 root root 61 Feb 23 20:55 shared_folder

  • Whereas it works fine in 4.11 cluster as it gets mounted with global permission 777.

    drwxrwxrwx. 9 root root 7 Feb 23 09:00 shared_folder

  • How can pods in the same project (namespace) access folders on a shared an ocs-storagecluster-cephfs PVC?

Environment

  • Red Hat Openshift Data Foundation (RHODF)
    • 4.12
  • Ceph
    • 16.2.10-94.el8cp
