How to add IdM URI DNS Resource Record to Windows DNS server?
Issue
- FreeIPA 4.9.8 (RHEL8.6) introduced
URIDNS resource record for service discovery. - IdM integrated DNS server is not installed. Therefore, the required DNS records must be added to an external DNS server.
- External Windows DNS Server does not support the
URIrecord type.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 or newer
- Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) / FreeIPA
- ipa-server-4.9.8 or newer
- Windows Server
- DNS Manager
