Issue

  • Files on a gfs2 filesystem used by SAS are becoming corrupted and errors like the following occur in SAS log files:

    ERROR: Expecting page 621, got page -1 instead.
    ERROR: Page validation error while reading WORK.TESTDATA1.DATA.
    ERROR: File WORK.TESTDATA1.DATA is damaged. I/O processing did not complete.
    ERROR: Errors printed on page 10.
    ERROR: Sorted run creation failure.
    ERROR: File WORK.SIM.DATA is damaged. I/O processing did not complete.
    

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 8, 9 (with the High Availability Add On and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
  • A Global Filesystem 2(gfs2)
  • The gfs2 filesystems are being used by SAS processes
