RHOCP installation fails due to invalid imageContentSources for docker.io

Issue

  • openshift-install fails when an imageContentSource is defined for an entire docker.io registry namespace/organization (e.g.: docker.io/entire-namespace) and reports and error:

    ERROR failed to fetch Metadata: failed to load asset "Install Config": failed to create install config: invalid "install-config.yaml" file: imageContentSources[0].source: Invalid value: "docker.io/entire-namespace": the repository provided is invalid
