oc edit command fails with permission denied errors in RHOCP 4

Issue

  • User with a cluster-admin role unable to edit cluster resources due to following errors,

    [user@bastion ~]$ oc edit clusterloggings.logging.openshift.io instance -n openshift-logging
    error: open /tmp/oc-edit-2002648107.yaml: permission denied
    
    [user@bastion ~]$ oc edit dc testdc
    error: open /tmp/oc-edit-1981819370.yaml: permission denied
