vdostats command shows error - 'Could not find any VDO devices'

Issue

  • The system has a device - /dev/testgv/testvdo:

    # lvs
      LV      VG     Attr       LSize    Pool  Origin Data%  Meta%  Move Log Cpy%Sync Convert
      lvol0   testgv twi-aotz--   <1.02g              0.00   11.04                           
      lvol1   testgv twi-aotz--  500.00m              2.14   10.94

      mylv1   testgv -wi-ao----  500.00m                                                     
      mylv2   testgv -wi-a----- 1000.00m                                                     
      testvdo testgv Vwi-aotz--    2.00g lvol1        0.52             <----------
    
    # df -h | egrep -i "size|testvdo"
    Filesystem                                           Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/mapper/testgv-testvdo                           2.0G   47M  2.0G   3% /test_mnt
    

    But the vdostats command shows Could not find any VDO devices error:

    # vdostats
    vdostats: Could not find any VDO devices
